Responsibilities of Principal Investigators
  • The validity and quality of the data and manuscripts generated from their laboratories

  • Fulfilling all departmental and University research and publications standards, policies, and procedures

  • Orienting students, research fellows, residents, and staff to those standards, policies and procedures, and to the Maximum extent possible, seeing to it that those standards are upheld

  • Overseeing work performed by students, research fellows, residents and staff to assure that each has the knowledge, information, and skills necessary to meet those standards

  • An open academic environment is maintained

  • There are no restrictions on publication or dissemination of information

  • The intellectual freedom of students is protected

  • The use of University resources and facilities is appropriate
