The ORD Digest listserv is an email-based newsletter offered by the Office of Research Development. It provides weekly notification of important grant-related issues concerning EMU Faculty and Staff.
It's also easy to use.
Simply send an email to our automated listserver with a requisite command typed into the SUBJECT line. For example:
To receive the Digest via email, type: SUBSCRIBE FACSTAFF
To STOP receiving this email newsletter, type: UNSUBSCRIBE FACSTAFF
Once you have correctly sent your command, the server will automatically reply with an email confirmation.
No text is necessary in the "body" of the message. Also, remember that while any form of Email will work with a listserver, it is usually best to send your email as "Plain Text" rather than as the more elaborate "HTML formatted" type.
The table below details the simple set of listserv commands available to you. Your message will be processed automatically by the server itself.

Returns a message that describes how to communicate with the server.
SUBSCRIBE FACSTAFF
Adds the sender’s address to the list of subscribers. If the sender is already subscribed to the digest, the sender's address is removed from the list of subscribers to the digest. A message confirming the action is sent.
UNSUBSCRIBE FACSTAFF
Removes the sender’s address from the list of subscribers or digest subscribers. If a request cannot be understood or is not appropriate, the list server returns a message with helpful information. For example, if the user sends a message asking to subscribe to a nonexistent list, the list server responds that the list does not exist and returns a list of available lists.
